52Teas’ Banana Peach Green Tea, Peach Cardamom Green Tea, and Peachy Keen Rooibos Blend | Tea Review

Peaches are in season where I live! While I don’t always gravitate to them, who can say no to a juicy peach? Today, I will be trying three peach inspired teas, two greens and one rooibos from 52Teas. Let’s go!

Banana Peach Green Tea

Description: “I really liked the combination of sweet, somewhat creamy banana with the sweet peach.”

Review: I may have already mentioned this in the past, but I was often sick as a child. One flavour that is common here for medicine was artificial banana. Therefore, when I smelled the blend, I was a bit worried that I would not enjoy it. However, after steeping, the wet blend smelled more fruity, which was a relief for me.

The yellow liquor had a faint banana aroma. But, I found it tasted more like melon or cantaloupe. The tail note was bananas. This would be a nice blend for someone who likes melons or bananas mixed with a hint of grassiness (3/5 rating).

  • Type: Green tea
  • Origin: China
  • Caffeine: Medium to high
  • Ingredients: Green tea, freeze-dried bananas, freeze-dried peaches, natural flavors
  • Other: Organic
  • Company: 52Teas

Peach cardamom Green Tea

Description: “This was a pretty simple recipe: peach & cardamom with a buttery Chinese sencha base.”

Review: One thing I enjoy about 52Teas is how the blends are pretty true to some of the names, especially when it comes to names that feature ingredients. The ingredients list four things: tea, peaches, cardamom, and natural flavouring. Therefore, it was no surprise that the dry and wet blend had a strong cardamom aroma.

The steeped liquor was pale yellow and slightly murky. The liquor tasted herbal-like and of cardamon. I felt that it left my mouth feeling a bit dry. This would be a great blend for a huge cardamom fan because this is one of the first times I’ve seen it as a main ingredient (2/5 rating).

  • Type: Green tea
  • Origin: China
  • Caffeine: Medium to high
  • Ingredients: Green tea, freeze-dried peaches, crushed & whole cardamom pods, natural flavors
  • Other: Organic
  • Company: 52Teas

Peachy Keen Rooibos Blend

Description: “What I’m left with is an interesting, Peachy Keen sort of tisane with notes of peach, blackberry, vanilla cream and hints of fluffy marshmallow.”

Review: I find the smell of rooibos very earthy and strong, and this was no different – the dry blend had a fruity, sweet and earthy aroma which was the same when wet. Again, like most rooibos’ I’ve tried, the liquor was a reddish colour.

The liquor was sweet, and vanilla was the most prevalent taste. I will admit that I didn’t taste the peach. The liquor was fairly delicate. This might be nice if you want a slightly sweet tisane (2/5 rating).

  • Type: Rooibos tea
  • Origin: South Africa
  • Caffeine: Caffeine-free
  • Ingredients: Red rooibos, green rooibos, marshmallow root, dried peaches, freeze-dried blackberries, vanilla bean, natural flavors
  • Other: Organic
  • Company: 52Teas

Final Thoughts

Like in the past, I’ve always enjoyed 52Teas and all the unique blends. While all of these had peach as the main ingredient, I found the one that I enjoyed the most was the one I thought tasted like melons with a hint of banana. Do you like peaches or peach inspired tea?

Next month will be spicy teas from 52Teas! I have to admit, I am excited and nervous because I’m not a huge fan of spicy teas. Oh no!

Hello CeAnne, Thank you for reaching out to me! I didn't see your comment in my queue until now. While I would love to try your blends (they all sound amazing!), I am currently very backlogged. Hopefully, you can recontact me in a few months time and I can tell you where I am with my reviews! Also, I agree, I am very fortunate to be able to try all these teas! Best of luck!
