NIUKA Fine Teas & Special Events’ Daily Balance | Tea Review

Description: “A full bodied blend, delicious hot or iced. Floral, creamy, sweet with bright citrus notes.” – via Amoda Monthly Box

Whenever I notice teas or blends with large variations between steep times, I always try it on the lower end first, just to see how it tastes. The recommend steep times for this blend ranged between 10 and 25+ minutes.

To me, the blend looks a bit like something a witch in a cartoon would use to make a potion. I noticed that there was a large clump of ashwagandha root, so I avoided it in order to try to get an equal bit of each ingredient.

The spearmint in the dry blend overwhelmed some of the other aromas. It smelled very earthy, herbal and pleasant. However, I found that the wet blend smelled more like boiled vegetables, with some mild grassiness.

The liquor was a bright ruby red. It tasted woody, vegetal and almost nutty. It did leave some lingering tartness in the mouth (2.5/5 rating).
