Description: “Minty, earthy, gently sweet with a kick of ginger.” – via Amoda Monthly Box
Review: The more I drink minty teas, the more they are growing on me! The smell of the dry blend had a strong peppermint aroma. It was very soothing with a lingering earthiness from the mate. The infused blend still had a nice peppermint aroma, but I was able to pick up lemon and lemongrass instead of the mate.
The liquor was a nice clear yellow with a lovely peppermint aroma. I feel like I was able to taste a bit of each ingredient, which was nice. I tasted the mint from the peppermint and spearmint; citrus from the lemon and lemongrass; and earthiness that blanketed the other flavours from the mate. I have never tried gynostemma on its own, so, I can not comment on how that tasted.
I really enjoyed that most the ingredients (that I know of) had time to shine and had a clean taste. The one ingredient I was unable to taste was the ginger. However, thinking about it, it is most likely a good thing because as much as I like it, ginger has a very sharp taste, whereas I find this blend had a more soothing vibe and taste (4/5 rating).
