Review: I have had Hojicha a few times and I have really enjoyed it in the past! Hojicha is a green tea from Japan that has a great roasted quality. This Hojicha is a kukicha which means that it is comprised of tea stems. That being said, I don’t think I’ve ever encountered Hojicha in a blend before!

The dry tisane had a nice peachy aroma, although I was expecting it to smell a bit more roasted. After pouring the water into the blend, there was a strong peach aroma. After the infusion, the liquor was a reddish orange colour with an earthy aroma.

I found that the dominating flavour was the rooibos, which was earthy, followed by some roasted flavours. The tail end of the sip was peachy and lingered slightly. I  will admit that I was hoping for a stronger hojicha flavour, but I am biased because I love the taste of it (3/5 rating).
