CitizenTea’s Mint Currant Green | Tea Review

CitizenTea Mint Current Green spoon

The great thing about this tea adventure is that many of these tea are combinations of ingredients that I haven’t tried before! Today is mint and currants.

Description: “A refreshing blend of green tea, mint and red currants.”

Review: The blend was made of gunpowder green tea. While not a green tea I tend to go for, I do love the shape of them. Right off the bat, the blend had a strong lovely mint aroma which was intertwined with currents to create a soothing minty berry smell.

The liquor was a golden yellow and had a similar smell as the dry blend. At first sip, it had a very strong, minty taste. The liquor then became sweeter and the fruitiness from the currents came through and lingered at the end. I found that the liquor tasted a bit candy-like and I am personally not sure if I am a fan of the combination of mint and currants.

That being said, it did hold true to the description and did have a refreshing quality. Additionally, the first time I made it, I accidentally oversteeped it and it did not develop any bitterness, so I give it points for that (2.5/5 rating).
