CitizenTea’s Holiday Blend Black | Tea Review

This is similar to the blend from Day 6, Holiday Blend Green, but with a black tea base!

Description: “Black tea blended with holiday spices and bourbon vanilla.”

Review: Since these two blends were named fairly similarly, I wanted to see how the two compared. Looking at the ingredients of the two blends, the main difference seems to be the addition of the cranberries (in the green tea blend), the type of cinnamon, and vanilla pieces.

For the black tea, I found the smell of the blend slightly earthy with underlying cinnamon notes. The cinnamon wasn’t overpowering, but it was recognizable. This was similar after steeping. While the reddish brown liquor had a distinct cinnamon aroma, it wasn’t off-putting.

As for the taste, it was earthy and sweet with a good dose of cinnamon. I had actually expected this blend to have a much stronger cinnamon taste, but it was actually the green tea blend that did. I liked that this black tea one was more subtle (3.5/5 rating).

I've been waiting for this tea review!!! Happy to hear the cinnamon wasn't overpowering. I'll need to try this one eventually.
