I am feeling a bit under the weather, so I thought I would try a blend that had some vitamin C in it!
Description: “With hints of hydrating hibiscus and tart lemon, it’s a citrusy tonic that’ll leave you feeling bright-eyed and bushy-tailed after one sip.”
Instructions: 1-2 Perfect Spoons | 160oz water | 95C°/200F° | 5+ min
Review: As expected from a blend named ‘Sunny C,’ the most predominant smell from the dry and wet blend was the citrus from the orange and lemon peels. The liquor was a clear rose gold colour with hibiscus, orange, and lemon smell after 5 mins of steeping.
The liquor was rather tart from the hibiscus and left the mouth feeling dry. It was followed by some sweetness and citrus. Overall, the blend made my mouth slightly pucker. I tried this both with 1 and 2 Perfect Spoons. If someone wants a stronger citrus flavour, two might be better, but I found the blend was already tart with one.
I understand why it is called ‘Sunny C!’ It reminds me exactly of Sunny D (Sunny Delight) which is a tangy orange flavoured drink. I think this blend would also be good iced since it would cut down on the tartness (2.5/5 rating).
