St. Fiacre’s Farm’s Rose City Repose | Tea Review

Tea provided for review

Lately, I haven’t been sleeping well, so I wanted to drink a soothing blend before bedtime!

Description: “This floral blend will assist in bringing a restful feeling be it morning, noon, or night.”

Instructions: Steep 1 tps. of loose leaf tea per 8 oz cup of almost boiling water (212° F) for 5-7 minutes.

Review: The tisane was so pretty, I couldn’t help but try it! The dry blend had a strong chamomile smell with a faint scent of lavender. I could make out the various ingredients: calendula, lavender and rose petals, and chamomile. After steeping for 6 minutes, the wet leaves had a light earthy hay smell.

The liquor was a dark amber yellow colour with a heavy chamomile smell. As expected, the taste was predominately chamomile with a lingering floral note. When the liquor cooled, chamomile became the remaining flavour, and it was slightly drying at the back of the mouth. That being said, this blend was soothing and what I was looking for! I drank it once before bedtime and I felt relaxed and ready for bed (3.5/5 rating)!

  • Type: Herbal tea

The question of the post: What do you like drinking before bedtime?

P.S. Whoops! I spilled some of the tisane when I was taking pictures. I thought it was a nice juxtaposition to minimal pictures I normally take.
