Plum Deluxe Tea’s Strawberries N’ Vanilla | Tea Review

When ordering from Plum Deluex, you can purchase a “surprise” tea option and the staff will pick something for you. The tea is sold at a discounted price, so it is a fun way to try a new tea! This is what I received!

Instructions: 1 teaspoon | boiling water | 3 – 5 mins

Review: The dry red rooibos blend had a signature woody smell intermixed with a creamy vanilla note and fresh strawberries. The blend was primarily rooibos with the occasional apple or flower petal. After brewing, the liquor was a deep ruby wine colour and smelled of strawberries and earthy-like rooibos.

The liquor tasted like how it smelled – like fresh strawberry/raspberry and vanilla/cream with faint woodiness and nuttiness from the rooibos. The blend reminded me of strawberry jam or candy. There was some underlying dryness from the roobois at the end of the sip. When cooled, the liquor tasted more woody with some fruity notes. Depending on the initial spoonful, there was a stronger or weaker overall woody rooibos taste. The infused blend had a woody smell.

Overall, this was a fun blend to try and I enjoyed that it was sweeter with notes of strawberry and vanilla. However, I could not find it on the website anymore. If the blend comes back, I would recommend it to anyone who likes roobois -based blends, strawberries, or vanilla (3/5 rating).
