Tea in Spoons Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy describes how your personal information is collected, used, and shared when you visit teainspoons.com (the “Site”).

PERSONAL INFORMATION COLLECTED

When you visit the Site, the Site automatically collects certain information about your device, including information about your web browser, IP address, time zone, and some of the cookies that are installed on your device. Additionally, as you browse the Site, the Site collects information about the individual web pages that you view, what websites or search terms referred you to the Site, and information about how you interact with the Site. This is referred to as automatically-collected information as “Device Information.”

The Site collects Device Information using the following technologies:

– “Cookies” are data files that are placed on your device or computer and often include an anonymous unique identifier. For more information about cookies, and how to disable cookies, visit http://www.allaboutcookies.org.
– “Log files” track actions occurring on the Site, and collect data including your IP address, browser type, Internet service provider, referring/exit pages, and date/time stamps.
– “Web beacons,” “tags,” and “pixels” are electronic files used to record information about how you browse the Site.

YOUR PERSONAL INFORMATION

When referring to “Personal Information” in this Privacy Policy, it is in reference to Device Information.

Device Information collected is used to help screen for potential risk and fraud (in particular, your IP address), and more generally to improve and optimize the Site. Your Personal Information is shared with third parties as described above. For example, I may use Google Analytics to help understand how visitors use the Site–you can read more about how Google uses your Personal Information here: https://www.google.com/intl/en/policies/privacy/.

Finally, your Personal Information may be shared to comply with applicable laws and regulations, to respond to a subpoena, search warrant or other lawful requests for information I receive, or to otherwise protect my rights.

YOUR RIGHTS

If you are a European resident, you have the right to access the personal information the site holds about you, including any data you have provided, and to ask that your personal information be corrected, updated, or deleted. If you would like to exercise this right, please contact me through the contact information below. This does not include any data we are obliged to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes.

Additionally, please note that your information will be transferred outside of Europe, including to Canada and the United States.

COMMENTS

If you leave a comment on the Site, you may opt-in to saving your name, email address and website in cookies. These are for your convenience. These cookies will last for one year. An anonymized string created from your email address (also called a hash) may be provided to the Gravatar service. The Gravatar service privacy policy is available here: https://automattic.com/privacy/. After the approval of your comment, your profile picture is visible to the public in the context of your comment.

If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This is so I can recognize and approve any follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue.

Embedded content from other websites

Articles on this site may include embedded content (e.g. videos, images, articles, etc.). Embedded content from other websites behaves in the exact same way as if the visitor has visited the other website.

These websites may collect data about you, use cookies, embed additional third-party tracking, and monitor your interaction with that embedded content, including tracking your interaction with the embedded content if you have an account and are logged in to that website.

CHANGES

I may update this privacy policy from time to time in order to reflect, for example, changes to best practices or for other operational, legal or regulatory reasons.
