If you follow any of my social media, I’m sure it is evident that I normally drink loose leaf tea. Many of the teas I buy/sent to me normally do not come in tea bags. However, when I made an order at Bluebird Tea Co., each order came with two complimentary samples. I received Strawberry Lemonade and Mojitea, herbal and green tea blends respectively.
I thought the packaging was too pretty not to share! The tea bags were fine mesh pyramids. I did not use them because I wanted to take a picture of the tea inside.
Strawberry Lemonade
Description: “Bluebird’s best selling fantastically fruity tea infusion that tastes as good as it smells!”
Review: Dry leaves and wet leaves smelled tangy and fruity. The liquor had a beautiful ruby colour. It took over 10 minutes of steeping to get a mild flavour. The blend was slightly sweet, tangy and ended with faint floral notes (2/5 rating).
Note: The picture above is what I got in the tea bag. The spoon normally holds around 2 and a half teaspoons.

Mojitea
Description: “A super refreshing blend of green tea, peppermint + lime.”
Review: The dry and wet blend had a faint peppermint aroma. Surprising, the blend tasted mostly of lime and lemongrass. It was clean and great both hot and cooled! Very refreshing (4/5 rating).

Overall
By far, I admit I enjoyed the Mojitea much better than the Strawberry Lemonade. I preferred the lemon and lime flavours over the tangy and sweet flavour of the hibiscus and berries. I also felt the infusion time was too long without enough flavour.
Also, I noticed that the ingredient list on the packaging stated how much of each ingredient was in the blend (by percentage), which was useful! However, when comparing to what was listed on the website, there were discrepancies between ingredient lists. For example, Strawberry Lemonade noted on the package that 5% of the blend was pineapple pieces, but pineapples were not listed on the website.
