Naked Teas Galore Blood Orange Oolong Tea Spoon

Description: “There’s a flavour complexity to the Wuyi oolong giving roasted notes, a natural fruit-like sweetness and a hint of spices. Flavoured simply with blood orange, this tea is best enjoyed pure.” – via Amoda Monthly Box

Review: When I first opened the package of tea, I noticed a very overpowering orange aroma. I personally find the smell of oranges very soothing, so that was promising! The dark brown (almost black) leaves were slightly twisted.

All the leaves unfurled after steeping and were ashy brown. There was a pleasant earthy aroma and the orange was more toned down. The reddish-brown liquor didn’t actually have the strong orange aroma I was expecting but was more earthy.

If you have ever had Terry’s Dark Chocolate Oranges, this is what the tea tasted like. It had a deep earthy taste which evolved into a more orangey taste. However, unlike the chocolate oranges, the taste did not become overly coy or overpowering.

As a fan of chocolate and oranges blended together, the tea hit the spot for me! This would be a nice dessert tea or for someone who likes oranges (4/5 rating).
