New Changes to Tea in Spoons! | Update

The last year was an exciting time for Tea in Spoons because I made my own spoon! This year, I wanted to focus on the blog itself and I asked the readers for feedback. I heard a lot of great suggestions and wanted to share some of the new changes!

Over the years, I’ve received a lot of questions about tea, and it become abundantly clear that informational tea content was lacking on the site. So, the first change I made is writing fewer tea reviews, and diversifying the post topics, including tea informational posts!

If you are reading this post today, you may have noticed that the front page has changed quite a bit and now is split into two main sections: tea informational posts and tea reviews. I really wanted to highlight those posts as they will be core components of the site moving forward. I’m hoping this will help new and returning visitors easily navigate around and find the content they are looking for more easily.

As part of this update, I re-structured my informational posts to help with finding information quickly. There are 4 categories:

  • Introduction to Tea (posts for people new to tea)
  • Tea Farming and Processing (information about how tea is farmed and processed)
  • Teas Around the World (tea varieties such as hojicha and earl grey)
  • Tea Culture and Ceremonies (cultural side to tea)

I’ve also had requests for different forms of media, so I have started creating short videos! You can find them on Youtube, Instagram and TikTok. Tell me what you would like to see in the future.

Lastly, I have started my own weekly newsletter. Currently, it is once a week and it will highlight my new content, and I’m excited to expand that. As part of the newsletter, I created my first eBook, a Primer to Loose Leaf Tea! Get a free copy when you subscribe. You can find a link to subscribe here or in the footer below!

As always, thank you to everyone who has been here during my tea journey. It has been such a treat. Special thanks to all my friends who have looked over the dozen of versions of my posts, eBook, and site, especially Lu Ann from the Cup of Life!

The question of the post: What update are you most excited about and what else would you like to see?
